Steve gets to do much of the preaching at Rich Pond.  He also leads the staff and the elders. 

Steve has been married to Lisa since 1981.  They have four sons: Joshua, married to Laura (Nashville), Joe, married to Sarah, (Hopkinsville), Jeremiah, married to Jessie (Bowling Green) and Ben, married to Sophie (Louisville).  They have eight grandchildren: Isaac, Ellie, Asa, Sophia, Liora, Lucy, Alistair and Asher.   Steve and Lisa met in the University choir at Murray State University.  He knew she was out of his league, but somehow by the grace of God she became his wife.  Steve grew up in Murray where his parents still reside and Lisa grew up in Crofton, Kentucky.  Lisa teaches elementary school music at Rich Pond Elementary and North Warren Elementary School.  Steve enjoys reading, golfing, working out and spending time with his family.

JIM KRUTZA, Pastor of Administration                            jimk@richpond.org

Jim is pastor of administration.  He assists the senior pastor in administrating the tasks of the church in worship, nurturing others and evangelizing the lost to make disciples.  He oversees the operation of the church, helps establish policy and procedure, leads the staff and coordinates community groups.

Jim has been married to Linda for 34 years.  They enjoy serving the Lord together.  They have two adult children – Drew, married to Amanda & Katie, married to Dan.  The Lord has blessed them with four terrific grandchildren.  Jim enjoys his family, woodworking, gardening and watching God change lives through the gospel

Herb serves as administrator of church policy, financial matters, legal concerns, and insurance issues.  He serves as catalyst by implementing church vision, evaluating existing ministries, and exploring new ministry opportunities.  He is a mentor by supervising, exhorting, and coaching all staff other than Senior Pastor and Worship Pastor.  He ministers by counseling/discipling members, pastoral care, outreach, and assisting the Senior Pastor as needed.  He oversees all church ministries other than the music program and assists church committees as needed.

Herb is married to Karen and they have 5 children and 3 grandchildren.  He enjoys many different kinds of sports. Herb likes to laugh.

DREW KRUTZA, Pastor of Students and Families                drew@richpond.org

Drew has served as the Pastor of Students and Families since March of 2015.  He has the joy of shepherding parents and students in the goal of raising the next generation.  In providing vision for both children and student ministries we strive to connect the church and the home so that all church members are equipped with the tools to make disciples at home and in the world.  

Drew has been married to his wife and best friend Amanda for the last ten years.  They seek to partner in ministry in every way possible.  They have three children; Calvin, Silas, and Charlotte.  Drew enjoys spending time with his family, coaching baseball, and proclaiming the gospel to students!

Brent is blessed to have the opportunity to serve Rich Pond Baptist Church as the mission director.  He works with our mission teams to develop strategic partnerships in Bowling Green, Kentucky, United States, and countries around the world to provide members of RPBC opportunities to serve on mission trips for the Kingdom of God.  He also serves as the Director of Facilities for RPBC.  He and his wife, Rebecca, have a son, Andrew.

Brent enjoys spending time with his family and watching Andrew learn new things as he grows.  He enjoys reading electronically on an iPad versus a paper book, which disappoints Chris Dendy.

SUSAN MAY, Director of Children’s Ministries                      susan@richpond.org

Susan feels honored to serve as the Director of our Children’s Ministries. Under the leadership of our Family Pastor, Susan works to serve our children, ages birth through 6th grade, and to help support families as they shepherd their children. She started attending Rich Pond as a college student and soon after started serving in our Children’s Ministries. The Lord has given Susan a passion for helping the next generation learn God’s word, build a deeper faith, and grow in a desire to honor Christ. She has the privilege of working with amazing volunteers who also desire to see children grow in their understanding of who God is and His great love for them.

Susan has been married to Ken since June of 2000. They have the joy of parenting three daughters – Katie, Abbie, and Maggie. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Susan also enjoys writing, reading, and shopping.
Wix, Michael

 MICHAEL WIX, Music Associate

RPBC Anniversary Date:  September 11, 2001

Michael works as the part-time Music Associate.  His main responsibilities are working with “Shekinah”, our church orchestra and “Common Thread”, one of our handbell choirs.  When needed, he leads Sunday morning or evening worship and also assists with other aspects of the church’s music ministry.  Michael enjoys working with the folks involved in our music ministry and praising our God through His gift of music!

Michael is the principal at Dishman-McGinnis Elementary School.  Before getting into school administration, he worked as a high school/middle school band director.  He still enjoys being able to be involved in the “band world” by judging band contests and festivals, and occasionally working with local band programs.

Michael and his wonderful wife, Ruthie, were married in 1995.  God has blessed them with two beautiful daughters, Madeline and Katelyn. 

BECCA KEEN, College Director

I am thankful to be on staff at Rich Pond Baptist Church and serve our college students both on and off campus.  My passion is seeing the Church come alongside college students and really be the Church we are called to be.  Which is under God’s authority and grace is by making disciples, teaching His truth and waking in life together.  I pray college students would be equipped at Rich Pond to serve those around them, the nations and the church for the sake of the Gospel!  I also work with international student ministry and making Christ known among the nations in Bowling Green. 

I am from Glasgow, KY.  I graduated May of 2017 and hold a position as a Respiratory Therapist at TJ Samson as well.  I enjoy anything outside from kayaking to gardening, painting, volleyball and traveling the world!

JENNITA BURCHFIELD, Church Secretary                            jennita@richpond.org

RPBC Anniversary Date:  July 13, 1998

What do a law firm and the church office have in common?  Our Church Secretary.  After 15 years of working for attorneys, Jennita has served at Rich Pond Baptist Church since 1998.  From years of doing bulletins, publications and pageant promo, she now focuses on administrative support for our Senior Pastor, scheduling appointments, membership records, crisis emails, maintaining equipment and supplies, and working with volunteers. 

Jennita is married and has two daughters, Katie and Laura.  Her favorite things are spending time with family and friends, trips to the beach and mountains, attending concerts, and hearing stories from days gone by.

DANNY CLOSE, Office Associate                                        danny@richpond.org

RPBC Anniversary Date:  August 3, 2009

Danny is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and was a Cave Tour Guide at Mammoth Cave National Park for 8 years.  He later became a City Carrier for the U. S. Postal Service in Bowling Green, a Management Sectional Center Training Supervisor, and a Postmaster.  He has written and illustrated a children’s book, “Mammoth Cave – Kids Love It!” which has been available at the Visitor Center since 1981.  He maintains the church directory, website, bulletin cover, announcement slides, and performs various duties involving computers and photography.  

Danny is married to Sandy and they have a daughter Natalie, son-in-law Jason,  grandson Jonah, and granddaughter, Kinsey.  He enjoys photography, videography, computers, and playing with his best friends, his GRANDchildren.

STACIE JOHNSON, Office Associate                                    stacie@richpond.org

RPBC Anniversary Date:  August 26, 2013

Stacie graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Music Education.  She designs, prints, and mails the church newsletter with the assistance of church volunteers.  She formats the inside of the church bulletin and produces the music slides that are shown during the services.  She assists the Pastor of Music and Worship with various music duties and assists in the preparation of the publicity for pageants.

Stacie has taught elementary and high school music and is currently the music director at Providence Knob Baptist Church.  Her favorite movie is “The Princess Bride” and her favorite hymn is “In Christ Alone”.  Her secret ambition is to be a Disney voice.

Cox, Matt

MATT COX, Technical Director

RPBC Anniversary Date:  August 15, 2011

Matt oversees the technical needs for all Sunday morning worship services. He also works with other church staff to plan, organize, and effectively execute audio and visual requirements for live events of the church. He schedules church volunteers in various roles of worship audio, video and lighting production.

Matt has been married to Katherine since 2011 and they met while attending RPBC.  He works as an Audio/Video Technician at Western Kentucky University and also as an independent consultant for Audio/Video/Lighting system design and installation.

AMY SPAINHOWARD, Church Hostess

RPBC Anniversary Date:  August 17, 2015

Amy is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and loves living in the beautiful Bowling Green area.  She has been married to her husband Corey for 21 years, and they have four amazing kids:  Nathan, Emma, Rebekah, and Simon.  Whenever she isn’t busy cooking, home schooling, or taking care of her household, she enjoys camping and spending time with her family and friends.

As the Church Hostess, Amy’s main role is serving as the cook for Wednesday night dinners.  She handles the planning, preparation, and serving for the weekly meal, as well as ensures the kitchen is clean and well stocked with needed supplies.

TOM BOTKIN, Maintenance

RPBC Anniversary Date:  February 20, 2012

Tom’s duties at RPBC include custodial work, building maintenance, and maintaining the church grounds. 

Tom is married and has 4 children and 8 grandchildren.  He enjoys sports, especially baseball.  He participates in church mission trips, helps build sets for church pageants, and works with the church Handyman Team.
