Many years ago, I sat under the rear balcony of one of the largest evangelical churches in Russia waiting for the evening worship service to begin. Our group of musicians had traveled to teach church musicians about music and worship. I was resting and thinking about the upcoming service when I noticed a flutter near the right-front balcony of the sanctuary. I passed it off as nothing, but a minute later, I noticed another object falling down. I moved for a better look and saw an elderly woman leaning on the rail of the balcony. It happened again and again. I realized that she was praying, so I asked about her. The answer, “She comes two hours early to every worship service and prays for the needs of the church and for those who need Christ. The fluttering papers she drops are her prayers.”

One day in the future, we will worship and sing with this saint again. On that great day described in Revelation 4 and 5, we will sing “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, forever and ever!” In that passage the twenty four elders fall down in worship before the Lamb holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. The prayers of that woman, plus all of the secret prayers that you have offered at three in the morning, will be in those bowls – all part of the grandest worship service ever.

At Rich Pond, our goal is to worship in spirit and truth, praising the name that is above every name – Jesus Christ. We come together to honor, adore and give glory to God, to Christ and the Holy Spirit. In worship we confess our sins, give thanks and encourage one another. We are challenged to serve the Lord through Biblical preaching and share the gospel to our community and beyond.

Worship is an eternal event. One day, every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. On that day we will worship with millions of people saved through the blood of Christ; we will glorify God, who redeemed us and heard every request. We will marvel at the ways God has weaved the gospel into every tongue and nation around the world.

You are invited to join us for worship at Rich Pond. We worship the Almighty God, revealed through Jesus Christ, whose Spirit lives in every believer. It is an awesome privilege now – that lasts for eternity!

Music is a vital priority at Rich Pond Baptist Church. Opportunities to serve in music ministries are available for ages 3 through adults in various age level choirs, handbells, musical and dramatic pageants, concert band/orchestral group, praise bands, and the Fine Arts Academy which offers a variety of private lessons. Worship service accompanists play piano, organ, and keyboard on a rotating basis. For those who are skilled in computers and electronics, the Media Team is where technical abilities are used in sound, lighting, audio visual presentations, and equipment management.
