Read the Bible in 2025
It is our hope that you will be in the word of God this year. Whether you are familiar with the habit of Bible reading or just getting started, we hope that these plans encourage you to meet God in His Word. Here are some helpful tips for creating a successful Bible Reading rhythm in the new year:
Pick a Time and Place - You prioritize the things you value. Your time in God's word should not be thrown in "whenever you have the time" but it should be a set time and place each day.
Pick a Strategy - Are you reading the bible in a year? Going through a specific book with a bible study resource? Pick a strategy and stick with it. Be intentional with how you read the Bible.
Begin in Prayer - Try beginning your quiet time praying Psalm 119:18, "Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law."
Start Small - Start small but be faithful with it. If you can add more time later, then do so. If you start small, you’ll be amazed at how this will encourage you and build momentum.
Eliminate Obstacles - Before you check email, social media, or the news, check in with God. Otherwise, your mind will already be distracted and filled with distractions. Turn off your devices and use a physical book for Bible reading.
In 2025, here are a few plans that we would recommend for you if you didn't have one already:
The Five Day Bible Program - This Bible reading system allows you to read the entire Bible in one year while only reading five times a week. Five readings a week gives room to catch up or take a day off to focus on other Bible reading or spiritual disciplines, and makes daily Bible reading practical and do-able.
The Bible Project - This Bible reading plan allows you to go through the entire Bible in a year and the Psalms twice. Before starting a new book of the Bible, there are helpful summary videos of each book of the Bible that you can watch. This will help readers get a better understanding of the bible's big picture from Genesis to Revelation.
Pastor Steve's Plan - This Bible reading plan also goes through the whole Bible in a year but does so chronologically, as well as allowing you space to reflect on the Psalms throughout the year.
